Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service
Thank You For Your support!

Thank you for supporting our work in empowering our community of legal professionals and partners across the country in expanding and improving legal services.  Your charitable donation ensures the ongoing success of our programs as we work to close the justice gap.

*Providing Free Legal Advice. ABA Free Legal Answers (FLA) has expanded to 43 jurisdictions serving low-income households with civil legal problems related to health care, housing conditions, veterans’ benefits, and domestic violence, among others. By removing three major barriers to accessing legal services - inability to pay, inaccessibility, and lack of understanding of legal issues - nearly 60,000 questions have been submitted, with more clients reaching out to the program every day.

*Celebrating Pro Bono Nationally. This October marked the 10th Anniversary of the National Celebration of Pro Bono. 2018 was a record year for the movement: 1,452 events were held by over 700 organizations in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands.

*Delivering Equal Justice for All. The Equal Justice Conference (EJC) unites the pro bono and access to justice community to share innovations in pro bono and legal services as well as to network and develop collaboration. A record 1,000+ persons attend the conference to gather and learn from one another.

Pro bono attorneys change lives and donors make it possible.  Thank you making justice a reality for so many!

Matching Gifts
If your company offers a matching gift program, you have the opportunity to double your contribution. Your donation will be recognized in our materials at the combined value of your gift and that of your company’s matching contribution.

The public service and educational programs of the American Bar Association receive funding through the ABA Fund for Justice and Education (ABA/FJE).  The ABA/FJE was created to accept gifts and grants to support the ABA’s public service work.  The FJE qualifies as an exempt fund under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and all contributions to the FJE are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
