Give Parents Back Their Voice!
Support the ABA's National Alliance for Parent Representation

Housed within the ABA Center on Children and the Law, the National Alliance for Parent Representation is the only national legal organization dedicated to improving legal representation for parents when the child welfare system is proceeding to separate their families.  We need your support to ensure that parents, in every state, have the right to counsel and access to a high quality lawyer.

Specifically, your generous donation will help to:

  • Sustain and Grow the National Alliance by:
    • Building more local networks of parent attorneys,
    • Increasing National Alliance membership and usefulness of the listserv,
    • Increasing our ability to engage quickly on new parent representation issues,
    • Developing a convening targeted to social workers, parent advocates and investigators who
work with and support parent attorneys, and
    • Enhancing our website as a place that maintains more current information and resources to
serve parent attorneys across the country.
  • Devise and implement standards of practice in each state, including caseload parameters, for trial and appellate lawyers who seek justice for parents.
  • Establish statewide offices that oversee parent representation.
  • Implement a multidisciplinary model of representation, throughout the United States, where teams of lawyers, social workers and parent mentors provide holistic assistance to their clients.
